To register a vehicle in your name, DLT asks foreign buyers to prove a Thai address — most often a Certificate of Residence from Immigration or your embassy (some services call it “TM.16”), though a yellow house book or a work permit showing your address are usually accepted too. Immigration generally issues the Certificate of Residence only when your TM.30 residence notification is on file, so we check that early. Exact requirements can vary by DLT branch, visa type, and vehicle.
